Side Swing and Top Hung Windows…
Side Swing
This outward opening window is particularly useful in a hotel or high-rise building due to the fact that it is easy to clean from the inside.
It can also be used as a fire escape window, however the minimum size required for this is 745mm (w) X 864mm (h) and there must be a clear opening of 0.33 square meters. But by using Nico hinges this can drop to 639mm (w) X 864mm (h)
Top Hung
Top Hung windows are manufactured almost identically to our Side Swing window with the exception of the sash being hung from top. The Top Hung window can not be used as a fire escape.
Materials
Our Side Swing and Top Hung Windows are made out of solid pieces of timber. We can supply these windows in either softwood or hardwood, depending on your specification.
Ironmongery
As standard the Side Swing window is fitted with Grorud G2449 hinges whilst the Top Hung window is usually hinged on Grorud 9100 hinges. Both windows are fitted with an espagnolette enabling them, when fitted, to have three locking points. A Titon handle is used to operate the espagnolettes and open the window.
