Ling Joinery’s dedication to creating beautiful Sliding Sash Windows ensure that any house can achieve a traditional look. As well as adding something special to your home our Sliding Sash Windows provide optimum security.
These windows run on Caunter Balances which have been chosen due to their low maintenance and working life expectancy. Fitch fasteners are used for the ironmongery to the windows and these are available in a number of different colours to suit your specification.
Or more traditional cords, weights and pulleys with boxes.
To make the windows more secure we can offer a number of options; we fit locking fitch fasteners. We can also insert screw locks through the front of the horn, which stops the window from opening. The last option we can offer is called a sash stop; a small brass plate is attached to the bottom sash and a screw is inserted into the top sash. This only allows the sash to open 100mm. The screw can be taken out so you still have the option of fully opening the window. This is the perfect solution for children's bedroom windows. You do loose the internal horn on the last method.
If the design of the window can includes astragals, then the side and head beads will be timber with the bottom bead being aluminium. We also offer the option of back-to-back spacer bars in conjunction with astragals. An aluminium bar is placed inside the glass unit, which gives the illusion of a number of panes of glass even though it is still one piece. They are available in a number of colours: silver, white, bronze, gold or black. If you choose to have no astragals, then all the beads can either be aluminium or timber. All beads are fitted in such a way that if any moisture does get behind them it can escape easily.
All of the ironmongery used in the production of our Sliding Sash Windows has been carefully selected to ensure the window maintains its traditional appearance.
